Makguksu (Cold Buckwheat Noodles with a Sweet and Spicy Sauce)

Makguksu or cold buckwheat noodles which are a staple of South Korean cuisine, is loaded with colourful fresh veggies and comes with a sweet and spicy sauce. It is a local specialty of the Gangwon province of South Korea, and its capital city, Chuncheon where I came from.

  • Dried Makguksu

  • Assorted cut and sliced vegetables

  • Makguksu sauce

  1. Boil the buckwheat noodles in boiling water for 7~9 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water.
  2. With the prepared noodles, vegetables and sauce, mix it well so that the flavours are evenly spread out.
